Expanding beyond the Bird Language Basics from the weekend of May 3rd cohosted with the Chocorua Lake Conservancy, we will teach bird song and alarm of our primary bird allies at the Remick Farm: American Robin, Dark-Eyed Junco, Song Sparrow, Killdeer, and Red-Wing Blackbird.

About the event
On Saturday, May 10 from 5:40-11AM, New England Wildlife Tracking presents “Intermediate Bird Language,” an outdoor birding workshop in Tamworth Village. During this program, we will share information from the book What the Robin Knows: How Birds Reveal the Secrets of the Natural World by Jon Young and lead the group through two “bird sits” during which we will observe and interpret bird language, and then spend communal time mapping what we’ve observed to draw larger conclusions about what’s happening in the area. Knowledge of bird song and bird identification is useful but not required—humans can learn to interpret the different “voices” of birds without necessarily knowing the species.
