New England Wildlife Tracking

About

"I am alarmed when it happens that I have walked a mile into the woods bodily, without getting there in spirit. In my afternoon walk, I would fain forget all of my morning occupations and my obligations to Society. But it sometimes happens that I cannot easily shake off the village. The thought of some work will run in my head and I am not where my body is: I am out of my senses.

What business have I in the woods, if I am thinking of something out of the woods?"

Henry David Thoreau- Walking

When hunter and gatherers transitioned to agricultural societies, they were still connected with the natural world by necessity. When we transitioned from agricultural to industrial, we still had our senses and motivation to pull us outside. Now, as we are comfortably into the age of technology, we are increasingly motivated and lured into our screens and modern artifice. We are on the verge of losing our connection with the earth, and this reality and its consequences are an existential threat to all wildlife, to our mental health, to our communities, to our spirit, and to our own lives.

Reclaim your birthright as a human being to feel the tactile connection to the life around you. We help you do this by facilitating a re-connection with your physical senses. We use wildlife tracking and bird language as the medium to achieve these goals.

Vision

We see a great need for people to reclaim their connection with nature. We want people to experience what it means to feel truly human. We believe that people will only care for and protect what they know and what have a relationship with. By sharing this ancient knowledge, we believe people will be motivated to protect the life around them and make more informed choices.
